This Sure Dosen’t Look Like The Sydney I Know

Thursday, April 5th, 2007

A 21 year old German tourist entered the wrong destination on a travel web site and ended up on the wrong continent. Tobi G. wanted to go to Sydney, Australia, but the flight he incorrectly booked was for Sidney, Montana. Tobi didn’t notice the mistake until he reached a stop in Portland, Oregon. “I did wonder, but I didn’t want to say anything,” he said. “I thought to myself, you can fly to Australia via the United States.” Tobi spent three days in the Billings airport before he was able to buy a new ticket to Sydney with cash sent from his parents and friends in Germany.

Reminds me of the time I booked that guy airfare and hotel to Las Vegas. I still feel he told me Las Vegas, New Mexico.

Take A Bushel of Oranges With You

Tuesday, March 27th, 2007

You’re going to thank me Bob the Travel Agent for this suggestion. I was reading the Wall Street Journal on Tuesday and saw the price of a glass of freshly squeezed orange juice in the coffee shop of luxury hotels around the world.

Brussels $3.67
Bangkok $6.27
London $8.11
Hong Kong $9.15
New York $9.84
Tokyo $11.33
Paris $12.00
Seoul $15.65
North Korea No Oranges. No Coffee Shops.

You could probably pay for your vacation by taking a couple of bushels of oranges with you and setting up a lemonade and orange juice stand in the country of your choice. Bring a bottle of Tang with you on your trip.

Cruise People Jumping Off Their Balcony’s

Monday, March 26th, 2007

Cruise lines are very concerned about the rash of clients who believe the railing of their balcony is actually a diving board to a large swimming pool. I hear cruise line management are considering moving all people who have ever had a DUI to the lowest deck possible on their cruise. One cruise executive just out of college thought adding bungy cords to balcony cabins might do the trick, and oh yes with a small charge. I also heard that some lines were thinking about adding a plexiglass bubble to cover the entire balcony might be in order for people who had 4 or more drinks at the bar.

Bob looks for your comments to pass of to the cruise line suits (management).
